The Unnamed Protagonist, going under the username "Resisilobus" is the unseen main protagonist of the Creepypasta story, I was a Professional Internet Troll. He is a socially outcasted man who became a sadistic internet troll, wishing to do nothing more but cause misery and be known as the devil.
What Makes him a Hate Sink?[]
- In the creepypasta's opening paragraphs, Resisilobus admits to being a disgusting, detestible human being, but takes great pride in it, writing his accounts of the story just to showcase his "accomplishments". He even reveals that he named himself "Resisilobous" after a demon from his favorite book ”the Demonologist", believing the name to be the perfect name for an Internet troll, as saying the name also technically means referring to the demon, as well as how many of the demon's traits resemble many of his (such as having oily skin and a body covered in hair).
- He shows himself to have a massive god complex, stating that while under the various fake identities he had while catfishing former classmates at his high school, he felt that he had limitless power manipulating people. When the real Resisilobus comes to kill him, he closes the story off by calling himself "the better devil".
- Even as a child, he was a very disturbing individual who took interest in demons and hell, seeing himself on the same level as the Devil himself.
- When he becomes a proessional Internet troll, he starts off doing simple things such as catfishing people (which involves stealing people's identities from social media), doxing men when they start leaving their homes, and making said men who fell for the facade leave their partners.
- Over time however, he takes part in being a "true" internet troll, doing more outrageous acts such as leaking the personal information of celebrities, and later decides that he must end someone's life to complete the goal.
- Along with a group of other internet trolls he befriended, he goads a suicidal teenage girl to commit suicide by leaking several embarrassing images of her on a fake social media account, and sending them to her friends and family. In the end, she kills herself by cutting herself with a box-cutter, despite efforts from family to prevent her from doing so.
- Worst still, Resisilobous also states that this is the first time in his life he ever felt "true power".
- After the aforementioned misdeed, he decides to target the elderly, specifically an old widower from his mother's old Bible study group. After finding his social media account, which has much of his personal information, he targets the man by constantly threatening his family, and sending him horrid media.
- When said old man deleted all of his social media accounts for his and his own family's safety, the Troll decides to go ahead and mail him edited photos of his children and grandchildren. The nature of these photos is unclear, though he also reveals that after seeing the photos, he became so broken that he hung himself with a note about evils people couldn't understand.
- Additionally, when the news had spread about the man's death, several other people in the study group, including the Troll's own mother were distressed at the news, though the Troll had described this moment to be the "pinnacle of his torments", making him "laugh and laugh and laugh for days".
- He also considers his influence in the cause of a school shooting to be one of his crowning achievements. In his this particular scenario where he reveals another tactic he uses to target people. He finds people who are already broken in some way, and influences them to do horrid things. He goes after a young man who is already suffering from major anger issues and aggression problems named Michael, encouraging his self-destructive and potentially dangerous behaviours. Michael then writes several blogs and shoots seven teenage boys to death with his influence.
- He considers an instance where he hacks into a Bible site, changing the words and meanings in its various transcripts, creating panic and fighting just for fun. The effects of this include several priests who read from the tampered transcripts getting under massive fire from various groups, and people who realized they've been deceived falling under depression or fractured from following a false prophet.
- Even though the real Resisilobus stalks and taunts The Troll for days, possibly going to drive him insane before brutally killing him, this isn't played for sympathy, as the Troll admits not feeling regret for any of his actions.
- Even though his mother cared for him, letting him stay at her trailer home, he had shown no love or respect back towards her, not even caring that she was upset that her friend killed himself.
- Despite being bullied as a child, the extent of this is unknown, and the Troll is not affected by it, appearing to just bully others himself out of self-hatred and out of sadism.
