Agnes Giebenrath (アグネス・ギーベンラート Agunesu Gībenrāto) is a supporting antagonist in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Freedom. She is a former ZAFT pilot who is a former friend of Shinn Asuka, Lunamaria Hawke, & the late Rey Za Burrell. She is known by her alias, "Moonlight Valkyrie". She pilots ZGMF-2027/A GYAN Strom.
In Japanese dub, she is voiced by Houko Kuwashima, who previously voiced Flay Allster, Via Hibiki, and Natarle Badgiruel from Gundam Seed and Stella Loussier and Young Rey Za Burrell in Gundam Seed Destiny. In English dub, she is voiced by Kelly Baskin.
What Makes Her Despicable?[]
- Bullies Shinn back in ZAFT training academy days resulting what he became in the events of Gundam Seed Destiny. She is also insensitive towards him about the deaths of Shinn's family relatives.
- In "Moonlight Valkyrie" Novelization, She attempted to befriend Rey Za Burrell, only to be rejected by him due to her constant bullying of Shinn.
- Harbors Patrick Zala's mindset bigotry toward naturals.
- Betraying her former allies for the Foundation, actively supporting Orphee Lam Tao's plans to revive the Destiny Plan.
- She tried to break Kira and Lacus' relationship by seducing the former.
- After turned down by Kira, she made up her mind to betray Compass, while aiding Shura nearly killing Kira in a fierce battle.
- Joining BKS's genocide action to wipe out those who are not willing to install Destiny Plan.
- She is a Karma Houdini, as she didn't receive any punishment from her heinous acts, as a postcard shows she reunite with Lunamaria and Shinn as a pilot.

- Agnes Giebenrath is the only character from Gundam Seed Franchise, voiced by Houko Kuwashima, not ended up being Killed In Action or Deceased.
- Agnes is a stark contrast to Kuwashima's notable Gundam SEED role of Flay Allster:
- Just as Flay hated Coordinators, Agnes despises Naturals.
- Agnes's constant bullying of Shinn is equivalent to Flay's manipulations of Kira throughout SEED.
- Her bad behavior was also enough to alienate her classmate Rey Za Burrel, similar to how Flay's own behavior alienating her fellow Archangel crewmates who were with her in Heliopolis.
- Both of them seduced Kira Yamato. Unlike Flay, Agnes failed to do so. Whereas Flay unknowingly formed a romantic relationship with Kira up until her death.
- Agnes is a stark contrast to Kuwashima's notable Gundam SEED role of Flay Allster:
- Agnes' personality and betrayal of Compass adapts several traits from two female characters from the Universal Century timeline of both Reccoa Londe from Zeta Gundam and Quess Paraya from Char's Counterattack. Much like Agnes they also betrayed their respective groups AEUG and Londo Bell after the person they admire coldly rejects them and they fell in love with someone from the opposing side that lead them to betray their group even though they were just being used by that person who did not truly care about them (such as Char finding Quess to be annoying). Unlike the other two, Agnes is not killed in battle.
