Alastor Emerson is the main antagonist of the Dhar Mann video "Dad Favors 1 Son Over The Others". He is the sadistic father of Gabriel, Marcus and Tristan Emerson who pushes his dream of becoming a fighting champion on his sons despite their own passions, which eventually leads to Gabe and Tristan's deaths.

He was portrayed by James MacPherson.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

  • Pushed his sons Gabriel and Marcus into fighting regardless of what they want, even calling Tristan a "failure".
  • It's implied he would have thought lesser of his own children just because they valued their health over his dream of fighting, judging by Gabriel's reasoning for not wanting to go to the hospital.
  • Shows no remorse over Gabriel's death and even forbids his sons from crying because "Emersons don't cry".
  • Smashes Tristan's guitar just because he liked music despite his wife's pleas not to do it.
  • When Tristan was shown to be inexperienced at fighting, he coldly calls Tristan his least favorite son despite lack of training, which leads to Tristan overdosing on painkillers and committing suicide.
  • Berates Marcus for getting himself disqualified from the state championship despite Marcus' grief over his brothers' deaths.
  • Even when Marcus is grown and has kids, Alastor still has not changed as he tells Marcus to "fix" one of his sons for preferring drawing and video games over fighting.

Trivia[]

  • It may be possible that Alastor Emerson is considered to be the most hated character from Dhar Mann as he would go as far as to commit child endangerment which leads his two sons; Gabriel and Tristan, to the point where he drove both of his sons to death.
  • The possible reason why he forces his sons into doing boxing and not caring that his sons died was likely the fact that he has head trauma from boxing in his youth which led him to have moral agency issues.
