~ Amane to her mother.

Amane Momose's unnamed mother is one of the overarching antagonists of MILGRAM.

She was the abusive mother of Amane Momose, and was a member of the cult Amane was born into. Her methods of "punishment" were incredibly brutal and cruel.

What Makes Her a Hate Sink?[]

  • She's one of the main reasons Amane's mental state is as broken as it is due to her abuse.
  • In "The Purge March", the first thing we see of her is her waterboarding her own daughter for unclear reasons. While she isn't explicitly shown, it can be assumed that it's her.
  • When Amane heads back home after helping the cat, as punishment for healing it, she uses a taser on her.
  • There's a vague implication that she may have killed the cat, but it's unclear if it was her specifically or another cult member. It's not even completely clear if the cat actually died or not.
  • While we never explicitly see her body, it's heavily implied Amane "gave back the judgement she gave", and beat her to death with an umbrella due to her abuse. This death is played for no sympathy whatsoever.
  • She is such a terrible person that she single-handedly got the fandom to vote Amane innocent in Trial 2 due to the sheer horror of her abuse and how utterly insane it is. This is clearly more than a little intentional, with all the prisoners who got guilty in Trial 1 got MVs for Trial 2 meant to portray them in incredibly sympathetic lights, while the innocent prisoners got the opposite (with few exceptions, such as Kazui, who doesn't seem to have gotten worse in any way).
  • Although we never see her face or personality, that really only adds to how hateable she is, as it's impossible for her to have any redeeming qualities that way.

Trivia[]

  • Many people think, since we only saw a hand, that it was the dad who used the taser on Amane. However, in the storyboards for The Purge March, the hand is labeled as "mother's hand". Therefore, the mother is the one doing the abuse.
