Andrew "Andy" Bangs is a minor antagonist in We Bare Bears, appearing as the main antagonist of the episode "Nom Nom's Entourage". He is a child internet star who creates videos of him pulling public pranks where he pops out of inconspicuous places and shouts Bang! to surprise people.
He was voiced by Bo Burnham.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He pulls jumpscare pranks in public via popping out of inconspicuous places, scaring unwary people.
- Some find his content entertaining, but many find his content annoying and even Panda was initially frightened by him.
- He makes a fool out of Nom Nom on the street, sarcastically telling him about how lame his entourage is as they can't give Nom Nom a high five and doesn't laugh to stupid things, and even stealing Nom Nom's sunglasses when he leaves. This results in Nom Nom enlisting the Bears as his new entourage to help him get revenge on Andy.
- This results in Nom Nom going as far as to call Andy as his nemesis when he hires the Bears to act as his new entourage.
- It turns out that the Bears and Nom Nom both share a mutual hatred for Andy.
- He pops out of a trash bin and scares Nom Nom and the Bears in a coffee shop, causing ordered coffee to spill on Nom Nom; he then takes a picture of them with the help of his entourage and posts it online.
- When Ice Bear takes the roasting battle at the nightclub too far with the roast "your bangs have split ends", Andy becomes angry and calls in his bodyguards to beat up the Bears, taking it outside.
- As he and his bodyguards close in on the Bears, he grins evilly.
- Andy's defeat, while comedic, is played for satisfaction, with Nom Nom finally getting revenge by popping out of a trash bin and scaring him (using Andy's own trademark jumpscare tactic), causing him to fall into a puddle. He later runs away crying when Nom Nom's old entourage is revealed to have recorded the entire scene and uploaded it online, with Nom Nom classifying Andy's campaign as "done".
- Much like how fellow Hate Sinks Ralph and Agent Trout are personal antagonists to Charlie and Grizz, respectively, Andy Bangs serves as a personal villain to Nom Nom, who considers him a serious rival and immediately seeks revenge following their encounter on the street.
- Overall, Andy Bangs is a jerk and a spoiled brat who seems to take delight in insulting, or burning people besides enjoying his job as an internet-famous prankster.
