Ash is a antagonist of the Cartoon Network animated series, Adventure Time. He is Marceline's misogynistic and immortal ex-boyfriend.
He was voiced by Steve Agee.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- According to the Adventure Time Encyclopedia, sometime prior to meeting Marceline, he was arrested for "Fencing Stolen Property, Impersonating a Wizard, Stealing Memories, and Being a General Pain in the Butt." This heavily implies that he was a fugitive who escaped rightful imprisonment by the authorities, and is currently at low profile.
- As for "Impersonating a Wizard" part, it implies that he lies about being a wizard and that he's a complete fraud.
- In the past, he sold her beloved teddy bear, Hambo, to Maja the Sky Witch. This caused Marceline to rightfully break up with him because Hambo was given to her by Simon/Ice King many years ago when they tried to survive together.
- He made matters worse by using the magic wand he got through the purchase of Hambo to taunt Marceline, telling her that she wasn't a genius. This was something given to her by Simon/Ice King many years ago.
- He tricks Finn and Jake into getting Marceline out of her mind about the moment she broke up with him so she will forget about it and suggest they go out.
- He forbids Marceline from seeing Finn and Jake just because they aren't immortal.
- He is being sexist when he instructs Marceline, who has her memories restored, to go to the kitchen and make him a turkey sandwich with tomatoes and pickles.
- His defeat of being stepped on by Finn, Marceline, and Jake is treated as well-deserved after the boys remind Marceline of her breakup with him.
- Ash is lucky that Marceline kicked him between the legs, considering what Marceline is capable of. Additionally, it could indicate that Ash is physically weak since he was jumped on by Finn, crushed underneath Jake's giant foot, and received karma for his behavior.
- In the episode "Betty", he is rude to Simon, as he calls him an 'old man', and rudely tells him to 'get lost' because that’s his busking spot. This is why the moment when Simon steals his rug and hits him is not played with sympathy.
- in "Broke His Crown", when Simon heard about him from Marceline, he expressed that he wanted to hit him, which actually he did in the episode "Betty".
- Along with other villains, he joined the Legion of Haters of the Candy Kingdom.
