Baltus Hafez is a supporting antagonist in the movie The Mummy Returns.
Why Do We Hate Him?[]
- He brings Imhotep back to life for no reason other than wishing to have power, even though Imhotep is dangerous. Specifically, he wishes to have Imhotep slay the Scorpion King.
- The reason he turned evil was because of his greed.
- Along with his cult, he kidnaps a child.
- He agreed to have Evylen burned alive, though this is partly to prevent Imhotep from being killed once more.
- The lives of his own men mean nothing to him. He sacrificed his two remaining men on the basis that they would be rewarded in Heaven.
- He is a coward.
Trivia[]
- It is implied that Imhotep himself disliked Baltuz, as he refused to save him from the Scorpion King. Additionally, his death is ironic for that reason, as he wishes to destroy the king.
- He has some similarities to Beni from the previous movie, being cowards that serve Imhotep.
