Baron is a flashback antagonist in Sym-Bionic Titan serving as the main antaginist of the episode "Shadows of Youth". He is a wealthy, well-respected bully who antagonized Lance during his time in the military training academy in his youth. He is frequently seen together with two other upper-class pupils who assist him in his malevolent activities.
He is voiced by Austin Mincks.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Before the events of the series, he was a brutish bully he picked on those weaker than him.
- In his first moment on screen, at the entrance to the academy, where he first meets Lance, who was just minding his own business, he instantly mocks him about his father, Edward's death. This causes Lance to angrily sock him in the face.
- After Lance punches him, he along with his Henchkids brutally beat Lance to a pulp, while Lance technically threw the first punch, the way Baron retaliated was not appropriate at all.
- It's implied that he was less angry about the punch and more about his shirt getting wet.
- Arthur's nonchalant first greeting of Lance after he came into their shared room beaten up and knowing the perpetrator shows that this isn't the first time that Baron has done something like this to somebody.
- Arthur states that Baron used to "give it to him good" implying that he beated up Arthur, multiple times before.
- He vandalizes Lance and Arthur's dorm room and makes them look like slobs to the combat instructor, all because Lance defended Arthur from his bullying of the latter by ramming into him during the zero-gravity training.
- After he gets defeated by Lance in training, he gets so enraged that he stole several of the academy's guns and plots to murder Lance with his friends. this shows us how much of a pathetic sore loser he is.
- When Lance steals a Manus armor to try and scare him off, he takes another and they get into a mech fight which destroys a good amount of the academy, endangering the students and the teachers, should be noted that someone could have gotten badly injured or worse, because of him.
- His punishment of being transferred to another school, is way too minor of a punishment.
- After being bailed out by his dad, he cruelly mocks Lance over Edward's death again.
- Although he only appears in one episode, it truly establishes how hateable Baron is and his actions are responsible for Lance's self-loathing, pessimistic mood shown at the start of the series.
