Barry is a minor antagonist of Amphibia, serving as a main antagonist of Season 1 episode "Cursed!" and Season 3 episode "Sasha's Angels".
Though he seems to be a charismatic and friendly berry and candy salesman, he's actually an evil sorcerer who uses witchcraft for petty and vengeful reasons. He's also the leader of the Marauders who plans to sell the members of Resistance to King Andrias for selfish reasons. He is the arch-enemy of Maddie Flour, especially in the episode "Cursed!"
He is voiced by Keith Silverstein, who also voiced Masayoshi Shido in Persona 5.
What Makes Him Hate Sink?[]
- While he may be a nice and friendly salesman on the outside, he's actually a petty and vengeful sorcerer who uses witchcraft for selfish reasons, especially cursing others to get what he wants.
- After Anne and Sprig accidentally knock him over and cause his Blue Moon berries to spill, he pretends to forgive them and gave them a candy, all in order to hide his true nature and have them eat without knowing what he's planning to do.
- That night, he curses both Anne and Sprig which turning Anne into a bird and make Sprig grow his hair too much by the next day.
- After Anne, Sprig and Maddie discover his true nature, the reason why he cursed them both was because they ruined his Blue Moon berries supply (which only grow once every 10 years) by accidentally knocking him over. After he seemingly forgave them both, he secretly glares at them spitefully from behind, vowing to curse them in order to "teach them a lesson". However, his excuse is nothing but petty and selfish to justify as Maddie called him out on this.
- Admitted himself of enjoys being petty and vengeful.
- Even after Anne and Sprig apologize to him again, he rejects their apology by refusing to lifting their curse, leading him and Maddie to fight each other.
- Although, given the berries were extremely rare, it makes sense that he'd be upset, but cursing them was still going too far. He could have at least agreed to change them back on the condition that Anne and Sprig got him a replacement stash of berries. Yet, he doesn't even do that.
- Attempts to curse Maddie out of spite after she called him out on his actions.
- After being turned into a chicken, he demands Maddie to change him back to normal and became devastated when she refused, showing that he only cared of wanting his normal body back rather than showing remorse over his actions. Not to mention he also deserved it for cursing both Anne and Sprig out of petty and selfishness.
- Leading the gang of dirty and anarchistic Amphibians, the Marauders, who have intercepted the Wartwood Resistance's latest shipment of weapons, neither of them are working for King Andrias nor the Resistance, hijack caravans and raid villages for scraps. Sasha also referred to them as "a huge, unwashed thorn in [her] side".
- After he publicly reveals his true nature to the Resistance, he plans to sell the members to King Andrias for an extra cash. He also admits he doesn't care if Amphibia is doomed if King Andrias and the Core weren't stopped.
