Brandon is an antagonist of the 2022/2023 sci-fi/horror film MEGAN. He is one of the bullies who bullied Cady James from an alternative school that Cady went to.
Brandon is shown to find sick, twisted enjoyment in tormenting Cady, whether it be physically or psychologically; even his own mother is not safe to her own son's cruelty. It is also implied that he was intending to sexually assault M3GAN as well, only to later be given a well-deserved death after his ear gets ripped off and gets brutally killed in a car crash.
He was portrayed by Jack Cassidy.
What Makes Him A Hate Sink?[]
- While Holly is shown to be a pushover and that her overly-doting behavior contributed to Brandon's behavior, as she normalized his behavior as being “intelligence” and being blind to his problematic behavior, that is not in any way deemed an excuse for Brandon to be mistreating everyone around him and picking on those who are weaker than him. This also doesn't help the fact that he is so cruel and disrespectful to people and other kids, even to his own mother.
- While Brandon and Cady were looking for roasted chestnuts, he will give a chestnut bulb to her, but not before he pushes it into her hand, forcing the spikes into her palm and hurting her. He also had no reason to do that to Cady at all, thus showing how actively malicious and petty he is.
- He has no respect for his mother either, as he would rudely tell her to “fuck off” and boss his mother around. It is also implied that the reason she is very clingy towards Gemma is that she seeks for the affection that her own son denies her, showing how desperate she is on having a friend.
- He is also shown to be a disgusting creep, as he would steal M3GAN before attempt to undress the android with the intent of planning to sexually violate her. This is implied as he goes to sit onto M3GAN after removing some of M3GAN's clothes so he could try to “play” with her. He would also spitefully slap M3GAN when she wouldn't respond to him, even trying to pull at her hair.
- M3GAN would scold Brandon (who was not listening to her at all) and tell him that bad boys grow up to become bad men, before punishing Brandon by ripping his left ear off. His death is not portrayed with sympathy and would instead be play with satisfaction.
- Brandon's also has no “Evil is cool”, comedic moments or anything like that, so there is no redeeming qualities with Brandon at all. Overall, he is a sadistic psychopath who is willing to hurt Cady out of petty spite, who does have any love for his mother. He also gets his kicks on bullying kids that are weaker than him and pathetically cowering in fear whenever someone actually stands up against him.
- Even though Gemma does say that Brandon is in “a better place”, M3GAN tells Cady that she thinks that Brandon is nowhere, saying that if heaven exists, it would not be for boys like Brandon. This shows that even M3GAN (a murderous artificial intelligence) hates Brandon.
- In addition to that, the police officer who investigated his death didn't even worry about what happened to Brandon at all, and even mentions that it looks as if someone finally disciplined Brandon. This does say a lot about what kind of monster Brandon is.
- To further implement his hate sink status, he is also shown to be disliked by the other kids at the school event, with one boy named “Felix” even whispering to Ava that he doesn’t want to be paired with Brandon.
