Brandon Plush is the main protagonist of the Goosebumps 2000 book, Headless Halloween.
He is a jerkish, cowardly bully who loves to terrorize children for fun.
What makes him a hate sink?[]
- He is a bully who likes scaring people.
- It's mentioned that he once scared his little sister so bad that she threw up her entire dinner.
- He once dropped a worm down his cousin's shirt and told him it was a deadly snake.
- He terrified the kids he regularly babysat, once scaring them so bad they couldn't stop crying. When he got in trouble for this, his only concern was that he was being fired and wasn't getting paid for his last job.
- It's mentioned that he spent previous Halloweens stealing candy from kids and locking them in houses.
- He terrifies his cousin by making him think he spilled acid on him.
- He thinks his science teacher, Mr. Benson (a massive hunk of a man with long hair tied into a ponytail who drives a van, owns two guard dogs, and, in a rarity for adults in the franchise, cares a great deal for kids and goes out of his way to stop bullies, affectionately called "the mountain" by his students), isn't cool, and seeks revenge on him for punishing Brandon for his bullying ways.
- He scares his sister while she is carrying a bowl of chips and a glass of chocolate milk into her room, causing her to drop everything, breaking the bowl, getting chips all over her floor, wasting the chocolate milk she planned to drink, and getting a brown stain on the floor.
- He ditches his sister and her friends when he is supposed to take them trick-or-treating.
- He locks his cousin in a haunted house and shows no concern when he screams.
- He steals candy from a kid and eats it.
- He and his friend Cal break into Mr. Benson's house and he pukes all over his kitchen table to get back at him for rightfully punishing him. He and Cal are about to flip Mr. Benson's couch and TV when they are stopped by his dogs.
- He leaves Cal alone with the dogs to save himself.
- When he sees his sister and her friends being bullied, his only concern is that by saving them, he can complete his task of saving three people within one hour, which he believes will allow him to come back to life after his death. He doesn't seem to actually be concerned for his sister or her friends.
- When he learns that he was lied to and the ghosts had no intention of bringing him back to life even if he completed his task, he simply suggests that they all cross over to the living world and spend the remainder of Halloween scaring people, showing he really didn't learn anything from his adventure and is still the same bully as before, having only helped save his sister, cousin, and best friend to try and get his life back.
