What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He firmly believed in natural selection and advocated weeding out "undesirable" individuals, whether cadets or nerfs, in order to create a strong population, and so his belief in natural selection led him to repeatedly have loyal Imperial cadets killed by other students for being "low-performing" as a test during his time as headmaster of the Imperial Academy of Arkanis.
- He left his own wife Maratelle to die on Arkanis along with a kitchen worker whom he had an affair with when the New Republic invaded, showing that he never cared for either of them, though the kitchen worker was implied to have survived the invasion.
- He was extremely physically and psychologically abusive towards his own son Armitage, whom he spent little time with and referred to as weak-willed; this would all ultimately break Armitage, who was only an innocent child at the time, and mold him into someone as horrible as his father, and it implied that it’s because he hated Artimage for being his illegitimate son.
- He remorselessly had thousands of children throughout the galaxy kidnapped and essentially brainwashed against their will to become loyal servants to the First Order and kill innocents, in order to fulfill his dream of a superior Imperial army.
- This was known as Project Resurrection, which many like Gideon Hask took part in and admitted that they forged them into an army.
- He bombarded the planet of Parnassos after escaping it as a show of power to Phasma, showing that he is willing to commit rather heinous acts in order to show the First Order's full power.
- While he does die after getting poisoned with a Parnassos beetle's venom by Armitage and Phasma who conspired together to assassinate him behind his back, this isn't played for sympathy as he deserved it for all the despicable acts that he did, so it doesn't harm his Hate Sink status at all result.
