Bryce Walker is the main antagonist of the 2007 book Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. He is a popular and wealthy student and jock at Liberty High School.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is a typical jerk jock with no redeeming qualities, unlike his TV counterpart who randomly develops some.
- He is a well-known pervert who is known to have physically and sexually assaulted many of the student body. This includes Hannah who he molested once.
- He raped Jessica Davis, the girlfriend of his best friend, Justin Foley, at a party while she was drunk.
- He felt entitled to rape Hannah when she was at Courtney's hot tub. Because of this, she let herself go completely and lost her will to go on.
Trivia[]
- While the TV show adaptation version has a higher rape count, he cannot count as a Hate Sink because he is given sympathy in Season 3 and feels remorse for his actions and given other sympathetic qualities such as care for others and almost redeeming himself, despite contradicting his behavior where he was portrayed as an irredeemable Hate Sink in earlier seasons.
