“ | You know, Junior, some of the things we done, man...I don't feel like we done something wrong. But sometimes, man, I get this bad feeling. I told the Padre the truth, man. I like it here. You get to do what you want. Nobody f*cks with you. The only worry you got is dying. And if that happens, you won't know about it anyway. So what the f*ck, man. | „ |
~ Bunny expressing his true sadistic nature. |
Bunny is the secondary antagonist of Oliver Stone’s Oscar-winning 1986 Vietnam War film Platoon. He is the psychopathic and sadistic soldier in the army and the former friend of Chris Taylor.
He was portrayed by Kevin Dillon.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Killing a handicapped Vietnamese boy by smashing his head open with his gun just for getting on his nerves, and then expressing delight at his exposed brain matter. He then does the same to the boy's mother shortly afterwards.
- Razing the Vietnamese village under Sergeant Barnes' orders without remorse, during which the surviving villagers are dragged away for persecution.
- Alongside Junior leads the gangrape of two underage Vietnamese girls, which as such makes them both pedophiles. He then makes a homophobic remark towards Taylor for stopping it.
- Overall having no genuine excuse for his actions whatsoever, he is generally so cruel to the point of even proudly admitting that he enjoys war because it allows him to do whatever he wants without legal restrictions. As such he realizes his actions are wrong, and even indiscriminately enjoying hurting others.
- He has no redeeming qualities of any kind, as in addition to being more cruel than Barnes himself, he is just as deviant as Junior. Unlike Barnes, Bunny is a full out sadistic psychopath who genuinely feels enjoyment at the suffering of others.
