Caddie "Cad" Spinner is the main antagonist of the 2014 Disney animated film Planes: Fire & Rescue, the sequel to the 2013 film Planes and a spinoff to the Cars franchise and the main villainous protagonist in the short of the same name. He is a malicious and self-absorbed hotel owner.
He was voiced by John Michael Higgins.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

- He does some comedic moments such as him thinking Dusty's name is Ripslinger, the scene where he insults his workers by calling them names and his defeat which is played for laughs.
- Cad refuses to get everyone out of the lodge, saying that he won't evacuate at that moment since being the superintendent for five years.
- Cad angrily insults them by saying that André is a glorified bellboy, Pulaski is an overpriced sprinkler, and Jammer is old and has a dumb hat. Cad then says that he is the park superintendent and that he getting the moment of reopening his lodge, before coming back to the crowd and revealing the lodge's sign before one of the tourists screams.
- He orders André to switch the main water supply to them, but André explains that the firefighters need it to make their fire retardant. However, Cad refuses to listen, stating that he doesn't care, and switches the water supply himself while André leaves with his luggage.
- In the end credits, it is shown that he now works as a park ranger in Death Valley, giving out a welcome to the audience before complaining about how hot it is. Just then, a background car's engine stalls and Cad gives off a nervous look before the screen cuts to black.
Cad Spinner (Short)[]
- Cad finishes the song with a message about coming to the park to visit the lodge, the guests all leave him on the roof as he demands for help to get him down.
Trivia[]
- Cad's last name is Spinner. This means that Cam Spinner from Cars 3 could possibly be either a son of Cad or a sibling.
- Although the movie's main antagonist, Cad only does what he does to make people happy. However, this was only out of selfish motives, and when there was a huge forest fire, he refused to let the firefighters make retardant to fight the fire.
- Cad, Chick Hicks, Ripslinger and Jackson Storm are the only Cars franchise Hate Sinks. Chicks is also the only Hate Sink in the same franchise to get away with his crimes.
- He with Ripslinger are the two only Planes franchise villains who are hate sinks.
- He is one of the only Cars Hate Sinks to not be athletically related, alongside Chick Hicks' Father and Sterling.
