Caledon "Cal" Hockley is the main antagonist to the 1997 movie known as Titanic. He serves as the love rival of Jack Dawson for Rose DeWitt Bukater.
What makes him Hated?[]
- Attempted to accuse Jack of raping Rose after Jack saved her life.
- Invited Jack to dinner as a means to manipulate him.
- Constantly abusing Rose DeWitt Bukater, calling her a "whore" on a constant basis since she only wanted to marry Cal because Rose's mother forced her to marry him so that her mother would be wealthy (his abuse doesn't help with any of this).
- Frames Jack of theft despite him being the one to steal her locket.
- He tries to shoot Jack to death (and comedically fails).
- Falsely imprisons Jack inside of the bottom of the Titanic with Spicer Lovejoy to watch him.
- Cowardly passing a Third class child of his own to make himself look like the hero.
- Even though he searched for her (possibly indicating a slight amount of care for her), he then declared Rose and Jack as dead (even though Jack actually died) and she was right next to him unknowingly.
- To drive the point that he is a Hate Sink, he is the only person from the Titanic who did not appear at the end of the movie in the afterlife (Rose and Jack's posthumous wedding) after Rose died at 100, possibly showing that he was disliked in universe as well.

- In an old script of his was intended to be even more hateable than the released script due to how he also fatally bludgeons Fabrizio with an oar and then mocking him by telling him to swim to his destination.
