Captain Eigerman is the secondary antagonist of the 1990 film "Nightbreed". He is the violent and ruthless police chief that Decker turns to take down the Nightbreeds. Although at first he seemed like a well-intentioned extremist, in the end he turns out to be a simple violent psychopath.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

  • He teams up with the evilous Dr. Decker to kill the Nightbreeds.
  • In one of his first apparitions, he and his men violently beat Aaron Boone. Although he believed that he was a murderer, it is clear that he does it only for sadism.
  • Then, along with Decker's help, he mobilizes all of his men along with various villagers and creates the group "Sons of the Free", with the purpose to commit genocide against the Nightbreeds, ruthlessly murdering a large number of them, including those who were only women and children. Said war also causes several deaths within his own side, to which Eigerman pays little attention.
  • When Father Ashberry demands that he stop, he just shoots another member of the Nightbreeds to annoy him.
  • When his side loses the war and the rest of his allies escape, he runs up to them and threatens to kill them unless they stay to fight, not undestanding that the battle is lost.
  • He tries to join Ashberry when he goes crazy and sets out to destroy the Tribes of the Moon.
  • Although his death at the hands of Ashberry was certainly brutal, this one is played for satisfaction due to his horrendous actions.
  • He's even more hateful than Decker, as he doesn't show any intelligence, competence, or interesting personality like Decker, and represents what the movie really wants to show, with monsters being heroes and humans like Eigerman being cruel, selfish and ruthless villains.
