What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He's implied to have married Connie not out of love but to get a position within the Corleone family, but is too incompetent to gain such a position.
- He's abusive to Connie, belittling her in public and badly beating her on at least one occasion, and throws racial slurs at her. He's also revealed to be cheating on Connie.
- He's a coward as he doesn't even try fighting back when Sonny comes after him.
- He plots with Barzini to have Sonny killed, severely beating Connie in order to provoke Sonny into coming after him, which leads to Sonny being gunned down at a tollbooth.
- When confronted by Michael, he cowardly tries to deny what he did, even swearing on the lives of his children, finally admitting to it only because he thinks Michael will spare him.
