Celestial Dragons, also known as World Nobles, are a group of aristocrats who are stated to have found the current world in One Piece. They are extremely hostile, malevolent, and xenophobic towards all other group of individuals who are not them. They are immune to any crimes they commit against all non-Celestial Dragons. They are one of the main antagonist groups within the One Piece anime and manga series.

What Makes Them Hated?[]

  • They look down on humans and other humanoid species and constantly antagonize them. They commit terrible crimes against them such as kidnapping, torture, enslavement, murder without any consequences from authorities within the World Government. Their actions are enough for civilians to harbor intense hatred for them.
  • They regularly participate in genocide as a sport and hobby for their own entertainment as seen during Bartholomew Kuma's flashback. In addition, they show no care or remorse for how their actions are killing groups of people.
  • They are all arrogant and think they are divine beings. Their arrogance and attitude also extends to allies within the World Government who support them such as how they insult Fleet Admiral Akainu even though he tried to protect them against Bartholomew Kuma. Other instances includes them yelling at and threatening Admirals Ryokugyu and Fujitora while they were trying to protect them during a slave rebellion.
  • They show no gratitude to the Marines or their allies and would verbally lash out at them such as them threatening Admiral Ryokugyu with the death sentence even though the latter was trying his best to protect them.
  • They are exceptionally bigoted towards Fishmen and express disgust towards them.
  • They are very greedy as seen by how their taxation on World Government affiliated countries put the countries on the brink of economic crisis. Their high taxation and tributes directly affects the populace of these countries which leads to poverty and rebellion by the people against their local governments. The Celestial Dragons have no care for how their greed affects other countries.
  • They steal people's lovers and wives to force them to engage marriage to the Celestial Dragons. They also raped women (such as Ginny (Jewelry Bonney's mother)).
  • The Celestial Dragons terrible actions have negatively affect good individuals like Boa Hancock and Bartholomew Kuma. The latter of which witnessing a Celestial Dragon murder his father right in front of him because he was singing too loudly.
  • They show a lot of contempt and disgust at other Celestial Dragons who try to treat other people with respect. For instance, Saint Rosward insulting a deceased Homing for showing humanity and multiple Celestial Dragons celebrating when Figarland Garling executes Saint Mjosgard because the latter protected Princess Shirahoshi and her allies against Saint Charlos.
  • When Donquixote Homing and his sons, Rocinante and Doflamingo, were being persecuted by many people for revealing their identities as Celestial Dragons and Homing contacted them to try to get back to the Holy Land for their safety, they refused to let him back and was willing to let him and his sons to suffer for Homing's decision to leave the Celestial Dragons.
  • They would resort to beating and torturing slaves when they upset them.
  • Not only do they lack remorse, but they also express joy in their actions. This is further an issue as seen by how they do not receive any punishment for their actions while people who do defend themselves against them are highly likely to face punishment from them.
  • After the Revolutionary Army wage a war against the Celestial Dragons by liberating all the slaves, destroy the symbol of the Celestial Dragons, and destroying their food supplies, it began to work as they are slowly going to suffer starvation and their lost in power, and this is played with satisfaction.
    • Also, the Revolutionary Army continues to intercept any food delivery to ensure the Celestial Dragons will continue their starvation.
  • They are all shown to be slothful and lazy as they force their slaves to carry them around when they feel like it.
  • The Celestial Dragons are shown to be egotistical and selfish.
  • The reason they wear a bubble while outside of Marie Geois, is because they want to make sure they are not breathing the same air as the humans they look down on.
  • Despite claiming to be gods, many of them are shown to be dimwitted and unintelligent such as Saint Charlos.
  • Their evil mindset and actions have also encouraged evil people like Donquixote Doflamingo and Figarland Garling to commit terrible acts.
