Celia is a minor antagonist of the 2022/2023 sci-fi/horror film M3GAN. She is a neighbor of Gemma who never takes responsibility for her dog Dewey and always leaving him loose.

She was portrayed by Lori Dungey.

What Makes Her a Hate Sink?[]

Celia is portrayed as a grouchy, irresponsible woman who is not respectful towards her neighbors.
She refuses to take any action with Dewey, her hostile dog, even after being told by Gemma many times to control her own dog. She even allowed her own dog Dewey to tresspass Gemma and Cady's house to defecate on their yard.
Even though Celia did mention adding a shock collar to Dewey, the collar is shown to be enough to make her dog stop, to which even Gemma even has to tell Celia to "crank it up a notch" However, Celia is very likely that Celia has not done this at all, as her dog will still attack her other neighbors.
- She would also go as far as to lie to the police when her dog goes into their yard, but complains when they get into her yard, making her a hypocrite. It is indicated that she had done this many times, even sarcastically asking the cops of "who else would have been letting [her] dog shit on her driveway?".
When Gemma wells at Celia to control her dog after her dog had attacked Cady James (who's a young girl) and M3GAN when they checked the backyard, Celia would rudely blame Celia for not staying off of her property and for "provoking" her dog instead of taking responsibility for her dog, showing her lack of concern of their safety.
- Celia would blame Gemma for it all because she didn't fix the fence, even though the former could've just done it herself due to having enough money to buy an 80 dollar shock collar.
When M3GAN lured and killed Dewey, Celia would decide to get the police and falsely accuse Gemma of taking or killing her dog with no proof nor evidence.
Even though Celia's death was brutal as she got her right hand shot with a nail gun and was violently sprayed with a pesticide hose, it was rather more satisfying and not played for sympathy.
After Celia was killed by M3GAN, Gemma would be wrongly framed for Celia's death.
Celia has no "evil is cool" nor any comedic moments at all.

Trivia[]

Celia, aside from Brandon, are the only characters from M3Gan thus far to be approved as Hate Sinks.
In real-life, if Celia were to have had her dog not be managed with repeated offenses, her dog Dewey would have been forced to be euthanized.
Despite being a minor character, she still was the very character who had left a lasting impact of being the one that lead to the events of the story. It is likely that if Celia was never Gemma's next-door neighbor, it would be likely that Cady would have never been bitten by a dog that had led to M3GAN going on a killing spree.
