What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Instead of helping Tina cope with her trauma and telekinesis, he uses her condition as a personal science experiment, exploiting her vulnerability for his own career advancement.
- Crews constantly undermines Tina’s confidence, twists her perceptions, and invalidates her fears—all to keep her controllable and dependent on him. This is most evident when he hides the rail spike in his cabinet to make Tina think she was going crazy.
- When danger strikes, he repeatedly proves he’ll let others suffer to save himself. His willingness to sacrifice people—especially Tina’s mother—exposes his true nature.
- He doesn’t view Tina as a patient or person, only as a case study. Every decision he makes is calibrated around how it benefits him professionally.
- He doesn’t wield a machete to be dangerous—his inaction, emotional cruelty, and willingness to feed others to the monster (literally) make him detestable on a different, more human level.
- He cowardly uses Tina’s mother Mrs. Shepherd as a shield to product himself which results in her death at the hands of Jason.
- Though he pretends to be concerned, there’s not a shred of genuine compassion. His façade of professionalism barely hides his selfishness and moral rot.
- His death at the hands of Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) is played for satisfaction and relief.
- Unlike Jason, who has Badass and "Evil is Cool" qualities. Crews had none of that, making him just a shallow pitiful con-artist.
