Chuck Chambers is a supporting antagonist in the Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly.
He is a pre-teen boy that lives in Bushwell Plaza with his dad, older sister, and younger brother. He is a sociopathic boy who pulls many pranks on people. He can also be very violent when he doesn't get his way. Chuck tends to appear in episodes as Spencer's nemesis.
He was portrayed by Ryan Ochoa.
What Makes Him Detestable?[]
- In the original series, he repeatedly torments Spencer for fun and sadism.
- His grudge against Spencer is extremely petty. He resents Spencer for getting him grounded for two days after Chuck's mischievous behavior, including playing racquetball in the lobby and causing trouble for Spencer. As a result, Spencer reported him, which led to Chuck's father grounding him.
- He locks Spencer in a cage in response for the latter getting him grounded.
- He and his friends physically beat up Spencer and stole his clothes. This hostility led to Spencer reporting Chuck to the police, resulting in Chuck being sent to military school.
- In the iCarly revival, Chuck appears as a witness against Carly and Spencer and commits perjury, lying in court to claim that the Shay siblings were cruel to him when Carly was his tutor, and Spencer physically abused him by locking him in a cage, squirting him with suspicious liquid, and even throwing a cupcake at him.
- While mother is never seen or mentioned, her absence could be the reason for his miscreance and he hates being grounded by others-his dad and Spencer, neither of these justify anything he has done.
- He blames Carly and Spencer for getting sent to Camp Add Em Up. Never mind the fact he believed her claim of a new number called "Derf" without bothering to check.
- He broke into people's homes to steal their TV remotes because his dad took away his TV privileges for a month.
- While he's utterly vile, most people either overlook Chuck's bad behavior or don't catch on due to him masking his true self, nor does Chuck have any reason to harass them. Spencer is the one he unleashes all of his fury upon, since Spencer is the only person who wouldn't tolerate Chuck's antics.
- Overall, he is a rotten and bratty kid who has no respect for others and does not accept any of his faults. Even as an adult, he has not matured one bit, still hates Spencer, accuses Spencer of all the things Chuck did to him and throws cupcakes at him in court.
- He is essentially an unlikeable version of Megan Parker from Drake and Josh, because at least Megan loves her brothers. While Megan often schemes playfully and is sometimes shown caring for her brothers underneath her pranks, Chuck remains a consistent antagonist with no real redeeming momentsāhis actions in the revival even include trying to sabotage Carly and the web show.
Trivia[]
- According to Ryan Ochoa, Chuck was purposely kept villainous with unpredictable and unredeemable traits to maintain his provocative role.
