Ciddarin "Cid" Scaleback is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Scorch) in Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
An informant for the Jedi as well as something of a criminal networker in her own right, Cid was the main provider of jobs for Clone Force 99 after their defection from the Empire, providing them shelter in return for helping her make profit.
She is voiced by Rhea Perlman.
What Makes Her a Hate Sink?[]
- She is responsible for The Bad Batch going on very boring and later even dangerous side-quests throughout the whole series, thus making her responsible for so much of the filler episodes in the series (While most we’re important to later seasons). Such include:
- Rescuing a rancor named Muchi from Zyggerians to give to Bid Fortuna.
- Getting a Separatist tactical droid for intel.
- Rescuing a Senator and their protocol droid from a Separatist planet.
- Making them get a treasure chest from Count Dooku's palace at the risk of their own lives. As a result Vice Admiral Rampart found out they survived.
- Making them mine Ipsium for her once again at the risk of their own lives and got their ship stolen by one of Mokko’s street kids.
- Making them get cargo for her from a ship wreck by a Zillo Beast, which proved to be the last straw for them, made them realize how little she truly cared about their wellbeing and make the decision to desert her.
- This makes her extremely lazy as she has the capability to do it herself, but forces Clone Force 99 to do all of her work.
- She only paid The Bad Batch once for the good deeds they do for her, showing how ungrateful she is for their loyalty and her neglect towards them.
- She makes Omega stay behind in a mission due to being too young and berates her for moping about it.
- She has no respect for her parlor regulars, constantly calling them rude names. While it is played for laughs at first, this gradually dropped in the second season.
- She also calls everybody in The Bad Batch with weird names instead of the names they preferred. Although this is played for laughs at first, this gets dropped once her true colors are revealed.
- She fails to come and pick The Bad Batch up from the Ipsium mines after their ship was stolen, leaving them to have to fight off a gluttonous Ipsium mines slaver named Mokko to retrieve their ship on their own.
- She threatens to turn them in to the Empire if they don't come back to her parlor soon.
- Once the Batch come back to Ord Mantell to treat their injuries in another mission and mourn Tech's death, Cid uses this as an opportunity to betray all of them to Dr. Royce Hemlock. Then she gains a lot of money and leaves them to have to fight him, at the cost of Omega getting captured. While she does seemingly display remorse, there's no proof her remorse is true because she already faked remorse over Tech's death and later betrayed them all.
- Overall, she is a very greedy and selfish businesswoman that has concern for nobody but herself and would do anything to make herself rich at the expense of others.
- Since CX-2 mentions that he got intel out of her for Phee Genoa, she is truly a coward who cares for nobody but herself and that she finally gets karma through intense interrogation.
