Commander Black

NOTE: This article is only about the Showa era Commander Black and not the Heisei era counterpart, and thus only the information of Showa era Black should be put here.

Commander Black, also known as Black Directive is the leader of the sentient planet Black Star and its saucer beasts. He is the main antagonist of the final 12 episodes of Ultraman Leo.

What Makes Him Despicable[]

He had Silver Bloom destroy MAC’s base and devour and kill everyone inside except Dan/Ultraseven and Gen/Ultraman Leo, resulting in the former having to disappear and the latter being all alone.
After having Silver Bloom destroy and kill all the members of MAC, he later had it attack a mall, resulting in the deaths of hundreds including Gen/Leo’s friends Momoko and Takeshi, as well as Tooru’s sister Kaoru, whom was a child.
Following Silver Bloom’s defeat, he later spent the final episodes sending the Saucer Beasts to kill people in needlessly violent ways and having them target Leo’s other friends, most of them being children.
- Additionally, he also had one of his saucer beasts brainwash a bunch of people into attacking Leo
In episode 49, he had Nova trick Toru into thinking he would see his family again while spraying red gas at people and causing them to be violent.
In episode 50, he and Alien Bunyo captured Leo and began hacking him to pieces.
In episode 51, he held Toru hostage so that Leo would be forced to let Black End beat him.
In his final moments, he had Black Star crash towards Earth in order to spite him.
He has no redeeming qualities or Freudian excuse.
Overall, he’s one of the darkest villains in the Showa era and responsible for all the tragedies in the final 12 episodes
