Comte de Vaublanc is a major antagonist of Castlevania: Nocturne. He is an elitist vampire who once ruled the French colony of Saint-Dominigue in the Carribean. He was the ruthless owner of the slave plantation there before he was forced to flee to Europe by the Haitian Rebellion, which lead to him joining the cult of Erzebet in the hope that she will restore the world to its "natural order" of slavery. He is the archenemy of Annette.
He was voiced by Alistair Duncan and Ryūnosuke Karasawa in the Japanese dub.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is a gigantic elitist who thinks that the natural order of the world is slavery and that nobles and vampires have the natural right to rule over peasants and slaves.
- He managed a plantation by controlling many of his slaves with an iron fist for many years, working them tirelessly.
- He enslaved Annette from birth after killing her mother in front of her, making him responsible for her trauma.
- As he is trapped and about to be killed by Annette, he continues taunting her and is too arrogant and delusional to accept that he is simply a pawn and literally branded by Erzsebet while telling Annette she is a slave no matter what.
