| “ | You realise that I am on my way downstairs to interrogate your wife, Cattermole? In fact, I'm quite surprised you're not down there holding her hand while she waits. Already given her up as a bad job, have you? Probably wise. Be sure and marry a pure-blood next time… But if my wife were accused of being a Mudblood – not that any woman I married would ever be mistaken for such filth – and the Head of Department of Magical Law Enforcement needed a job doing, I would make it my priority to do this job, Cattermole. Do you understand me? | „ |

| “ | Spare us. The brats of Mudbloods do not stir our sympathies. | „ |

Corban Yaxley is a supporting antagonist in the Harry Potter series, serving as a minor antagonist in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and a major antagonist in both Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and the 2010 film adaptation Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1. He is a high-ranking Death Eater serving Lord Voldemort.
He was portrayed by Peter Mullan.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is a faithful servant of evil who helped Lord Voldemort, essentially the very concept of evil, capture, torture and murder Rufus Scrimgeour and take control of the Ministry of Magic, personally placing Pius Thicknesse under the Imperius Curse.
- He is tyrannical enough to, as Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, cruelly sentence Muggle-borns to Azkaban, a fate which some of them did not survive and is considered worse than death. He further abused his authority to harass and intimidate lower-ranking employees, which was seen when he threatened to impose more serious consequences for Mary Cattermole if her husband Reginald did not dry his office within an hour.
- He is ageist, since he dismissed Mary's concern for her children, all but confirming he hates them.
- Even though his role was reduced, he has an added Kick the Dog moment in the movie, in which he tried to kidnap Hermione Granger's parents to use them against her, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley (in a deleted scene). Fortunately, Hermione temporarily erased her parents' memories to keep them safe.
