The Cruel Veterinarian is the overarching antagonist of the Cartoon Network series Courage the Cowardly Dog, serving as the main antagonist of the episode "Remembrance of Courage Past".

He is a sadistic animal doctor who hates dogs and was responsible for separating Courage from his parents when he was a puppy and making the latter an orphan, until he was adopted by Muriel Bagge. He is considered to be Courage's true arch-nemesis.

He was voiced by Jim Cummings, who also voiced Steele in Balto and Hadrian in Minecraft: Story Mode

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

Due to his hatred of dogs, he sent countless of them into space in order to breed them and on top of that it was all for nothing.
During Courage's childhood, he sent his parents into space and tried to do the same with Courage.
When Eustace and Muriel discovered his secret, he tried to send them into space to make Courage's life more miserable since he noticed they known too much.
He was also shown to do horrific experiments on other animals.
Unlike most villains (especially Katz), he lacks redeeming qualities and comedic traits, shows no remorse for his actions and crimes, and is taken very seriously, at least Eustace Bagge had comedic moments.
He is responsible for Courage's trauma and cowardice, and that Courgage himself is even traumatized by his actions as shown at the beginning of the episode.
His actions are so awful that even Eustace, who is a mean jerk to Courage, was shocked at this.
His comeuppance of getting sent to the moon where the dogs he sent viciously attacked him is very well-deserved due to his horrible and unforgivable actions.
Even though he only appeared in one episode, the Cruel Veterinarian is amongst the most hated and loathed Courage the Cowardly Dog characters for sending Courage's parents into space to make Courage's life miserable and lonely, retroactively leading to all of the events in the series.
