Dagmer Cleftjaw is a villain in the second season of HBO series Game of Thrones. He is an Ironborn raider who has served House Greyjoy for many years.
He was portrayed by Ralph Ineson.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is one of the more brutal Iron Islanders in the show when he convinces Theon to become against his will an enemy to the Stark house that raised him.
- Took part in Balon Greyjoy's brutal conquest of the North and convinced Theon Greyjoy to take Winterfell from Bran Stark.
- Pressures a reluctant Theon into sentencing Ser Rodrik to death for insulting him.
- Is amused when he sees Theon beat Black Lorren up.
- Kills two miller's boys to cover up Theon's failure to capture Bran and Rickon after they escape from his captivity.
- Laughs at Maester Luwin's grief over the Starks' supposed deaths.
- Reveals that he murdered the miller and his wife when Theon tries to compensate the miller to ease his guilt.
- While he initially seems loyal to Theon he subverts this by knocking him down and handing him over to Northmen leading to his torture at the hands of Ramsay Bolton, what caused him to suffer a fate worse than death.
- Although his betrayal of Theon was for the sake of saving his people, not only did he do it to save his skin, as evidenced by when he laughs in front of Theon beating Black Loren, but in the end, they are all left alive to suffer at the hands of Ramsay.
- Stab Luwin when he tries to help Theon. This caused him to bleed slowly until he escaped from Winterfell and received a merciful death at the hands of Osha.
- Even though his implied death at the hands of Ramsay was horrible, he deserved it for his crimes.
