You see?! You understand now, don't ya?! You can have me! It's how the world works now! Give part of yourself...so others can live! You gotta keep me alive. If you kill me, the meat gets tainted! You can't eat it!
~ Danny to Lee, pleading for his life.
Andy: Pick one to keep, and kill the rest.
Danny: Can I pick which one to keep alive?
Andy: Not the kid. Not enough meat on her to trade.
~ Danny to Andy outside the barn - a reference to his pedophilia.

Danny St. John is a major antagonist in the first season of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead, being one of the main antagonists (alongside his mother and brother) of the second episode "Starved For Help".

Although at first they appeared friendly towards Lee and his band of survivors, they were eventually revealed to be deceptive cannibals, who resorted to murder and cannibalism in an effort to stay alive during the zombie apocalypse.

He was voiced by Brian Sommer.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

  • According to unused audio files and Brian Sommer himself, Danny was already a pedophile for some time before the apocalypse.
    • This is even alluded to in the game's final cut, with Danny asking to keep Clementine alive for his own twisted purposes, which Andy refuses to allow because there's "not enough meat on her to trade".
  • Alongside his family, he kidnapped, killed and cannibalized countless people who "were gonna die anyways one way or another" for survival.
  • He created the inescapable bear trap that caught Ben's band director in the woods, resulting in his gruesome death via either getting left behind for the walkers or blood loss through leg amputation.
  • He kills Jolene with a headshot if Lee doesn't, expressing glee towards the fact that he got to use his gun Charlotte on a living person.
    • On the other hand, if Lee shoots Jolene first, Danny hypocritically scolds him for it, saying he could've just taken her down non-lethally instead.
    • Furthermore, Danny's affection towards Charlotte is just flat-out creepy, referring to the gun as a beautiful women he likes to sleep with every night.
  • After Mark gets shot with an arrow by the Save-Lots bandits, Danny and his family amputated Mark's legs, serving them to Lee's group for dinner afterwards. Even Clementine can eat some of the meat if Lee doesn't stop her in time.
  • He locks Lee, Clementine, Kenny, Lilly and Larry in a meat locker, resulting in Larry's death and Lilly going insane.
  • When Lilly and Lee defeats him, he can mock Lee for being a coward if he didn't kill Jolene.
  • If Lee kills Danny, it horrifies Clementine and serves as a potential reason for the Stranger hating Lee later on.
  • Unlike Andy and Brenda, who don't visibly enjoy doing what they do for survival and have sympathetic deaths (with Brenda sometimes showing remorse), Danny is a major psychopath who takes sadistic pleasure in his actions and nothing about him is played for sympathy.
