Danzo Shimura is the leader of Root and was responsible for many crimes that led to creation of many dangerous criminals who would become enemies of the Hidden Leaf Village. He is a major antagonist in Naruto.
In the Japanese version, he was voiced by Hiroshi Ito, and Masayuki Katō as a young adult. In the English version, he was voiced by William Frederick Knight, and Peter Lurie as a young adult.
What Makes Him A Hate Sink?[]
- Even in his youth, he had a bad personality, and he ended up being evil by jealousy around his former comrade Hiruzen Sarutobi.
- During the Third Great Ninja War, he allied with the leader of the Rain Village, Hanzō of the Salamander and tried to convince him that the Akatsuki are not good for the Shinobi world while the point of this is to lead peace in the world. Because of this Hanzō truly listened to him and this caused Yahiko's death, Nagato turning evil and the evil Akatsuki be created indirectly.
- When he was allied with Orochimaru, he brainwashed Nono Yakushi (Kabuto's adoptive mother) to send her kill her with a mask, so Kabuto kills her without recognizing her, it mainly caused Kabuto to become an evil villain because after this he feels alone and Orochimaru recruited him.
- Tried to propose Orochimaru for being the Fourth Hokage while he is responsible for so many atrocities and left the village so long.
- During the Nine Tails attack he insisted to the Uchiha clan to not join in the attack while if he did, Minato and Kushina would not have to sacrifice themselves because the Uchihas would have helped to controls the nine tails.
- He attempted to kills the Third Hokage (Hiruzen Sarutobi) to autoproclamate himself the hokage and because he thinks that he is doing bad things.
- In the novel of Itachi, it was revealed that he exposed Naruto to be the vessel of the nine tails to everybody which ruined Naruto’s life.
- He sent Kinoe (Yamato) to kill Kakashi for bringing his sharingan to him.
- Probably the moment that we hated him the most is when he brutally stole Shisui’s eye and tried to steal his other one, this caused Shisui’s death and if he didn’t did this, Shisui would likely stop the Coup d’Etat without having to eliminate the whole clan and bring peace because he is so strong.
- Ordered and manipulated Itachi to kill his own clan making him a eternal criminal who would joins the Akatsuki later.
- He forced Sai and his adoptive brother Shin to fight to death.
- He place a curse tag and brainwash his pupils so they listen to his orders and execute them.
- He took the Sharingans from dead Uchihas so he could make a Izanagi arm.
- In his fight against Sasuke, he took Karin as hostage to Sasuke stabs her.
- Overall, Danzō is responsible for ruining the lives of Naruto, Sasuke, Itachi, Nagato, and Kabuto and causing the latter four to descend into villainy.
