Darren (ShanePlays)

Darren is one of the two main antagonists (alongside his mother) of the Roblox movie, The Hated Step Child. He is Michael's abusive step brother.

What makes him a Hate Sink?[]

He has a high pitched voice and a squeaky and annoying laugh to highlight his obnoxiousness.
He mocks Michael for having to go to the hospital because of heatstroke.
He tells Michael that he wishes he was never born.
He tells Michael he's not part of the family. He says Michael is just "somebody who rents a room", even though Darren and his mother moved into Michael's father's house, meaning that if anything, Darren is living in Michael's house.
He calls Michael a "crybaby loser" and says he will tell the whole school that he faked being sick, even though he really was sick.
He mocks Michael for having a dead mother.
When Michael tells him not to talk about his mother, Darren mocks his crying and calls him a crybaby and a loser.
He goes out of his way to pick on Michael at school, saying no girl will go to the dance with him and saying he has no family, even though his father is clearly still alive.
He forbids Michael from even talking with Alice, something he has no right to do.
He gets mad when Michael ignores the above command and does talk with Alice, saying Alice is his girl and Michael isn't allowed to talk to her. When Alice rejects Darren because of his cruelty toward Michael, he blames Michael and punches him so bad he has to go to the infirmary.
Michael mentions that Darren beats him up all the time.
He mocks Michael when he can't go to the prom because of Darren's mother grounding him, calling him a loser and saying that Alice never liked him anyway.
He tells Michael that he should feel thankful they even let him stay in "their" house, even though the house belongs to Michael's father.
He tells Michael that he is not his brother.
He says that he will lie to Alice that Michael deliberately ditched her.
He is given no Freudian excuse or reason for hating Michael.
He suffers no karma and never apologizes or changes his ways. Michael is still stuck in an abusive environment by the end.
