Dave (We Bare Bears)

“	Karla can't know there's a way off this island. It's the only way I can win her heart. And soon, she'll see. She'll be as madly in love with me as I am with her. And if that means staying on this island forever, then so be it.	„

Dave is the main antagonist of the We Bear Bears episode, "The Island."

He is the narcissistic and psychotic boyfriend-wannabe of Karla and the attempted killer of the bears. Upon first meeting Karla, Dave fell in mad love with her in private, and was willing to perform his best efforts to make Karla his "wife and muse," even if it meant permanently stranding the both of them on the island until their deaths. He stole and concealed emergency supplies from a crashed helicopter, hiding them in a thicket as a means of sabotaging one of, if not their only, their means of escaping the island. However, Dave's plans to win Karla's heart are ultimately foiled by the three bears.

He was voiced by Jake Johnson.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

While being stranded on a desert island for years would normally be seen as incredibly tragic, this isn't true for Dave's case, as sees his situation as a chance to indulge his obsession with Karla, wanting to make her his "wife and muse".
- It's also implied that he was already a horrible person before the events of the episode.
He is a creepy psychopath and even misogynistic, being absolutely obsessed with Karla. He sees himself as her rightful lover and would do anything to keep her on the island. He also draws pictures of the two together in his notebook, which is disturbing and inappropriate.
Beyond his relationship with Karla, he's also a troublemaker, as he insulted the bears for no apparent reason. He didn't even thank Ice Bear after he helped him acquire coconuts.
He hid the survival kit in the jungle, only planning to reveal it to Karla after she fell in love with him.
He made advances on Karla at least twice.
There doesn't seem to be any limit to the people he'll hurt or kill, as he tries to murder the bears, who were young cubs at the time.
He is, rather accurately, called a stalker on numerous occasions.
He can't even accept loss and defeat, as he tries to grab Ice Bear in a rather undignified last-ditch effort to get Karla to stay with him, but failed.
His defeat is played for satisfaction, as he's assaulted with a starfish and left alone on the island in a pathetic display, presumably to die of starvation or was later rescued and imprisoned for the rest of his life.
Unlike most We Bear Bears villains, Dave has almost no comedic moments and is devoid of any redeeming qualities.
- Additionally, unlike other deplorable villains from the We Bare Bears franchise such as Agent Trout, Barry Charles and Norm, who all have various epic moments of villainy and a decent amount of Evil is Cool aura; Dave possesses zero entertaining traits that make him at least likable.
He serves as a tragically real example of toxic possessiveness.
