Wadey Wilson, better known as Deadpool, is a sinister supervillain from Earth-1610, who would hunt and kill mutants on live television for the "crime" of being so.
Unlike his mainstream anti-heroic counterpart, this incarnation of Deadpool is absolutely evil and ruthless, and lacks redeeming qualities.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Unlike other incarnations of Deadpool who is anti-heroic and has funny moments this version of Deadpool is absolutely evil and ruthless, and has zero comical or redeeming qualities.
- He lacks any of the charm, intrigue, or creative personality of normal Deadpool.
- Deadpool in canon was a funny character whose jokes were always creative and fun. In contrast, this one is focused only on his sadism, which strains his jokes into being less funny and more disturbing on purpose.
- Canon Deadpool was tortured when given his powers, and was thus, driven insane because of it. This Deadpool, voluntarily gave himself cybernetic enhancements simply to kill mutants, eliminating the tragic side to this Deadpool's backstory.
- He is determined to kill every mutant on Earth all because theyāre mutants and wants to make sure they die in the most horrific ways.
- Participates in Mojo Adam's TV show called Hunt for Justice so he can hunt down and kill every mutant his Reavers have gathered in his island.
- Captures the X-Men and Spider-Man (even though the latter is not a mutant Deadpool just says that Spidey is a bonus on his job to him) on the dumbest of charges and begins hunting them down.
- Although his refusal to unmask a captured Spider-Man while commenting "masks mean something, respect that" may suggest he has an honorable side, this isn't really the case given he shows no visible respect for Spidey himself as a person, capturing and trying to kill him as a "bonus" to boost his show's ratings despite him not being a mutant at all, so he'll be remembered as the man who killed him, therefore his refusal to unmask Spider-Man could simply be cheap pragmatism instead of genuine respect for him as a person or at least honor.
- He abuses and mistreats the Reavers and even kills some if itās a means to an end, despite everything they did for him.
- He enjoys murdering mutants (possibly younger mutants) in their sleep.
- States that he started Hunt for Justice so he could "inspire" people from other countries to kill mutants like the "animals they are."
- He joined Dreadpool's evil quest to end all of existence.
- He was about to kill mainstream Deadpool, until he kills him first very quickly, showing us how pathetically weak he was.
Trivia[]
- This is the only version of Deadpool that counts as a Hate Sink since the majority of his incarnations are straight up tragic, anti-heroic, has too many redeeming/comedic qualities and has many likeable traits whereas this one doesn't.
- He was used as a Composite Character for the Deadpool depicted in the video game Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. However, this Deadpool isn't a Hate Sink due to retaining his canon counterpart's anti-heroic, comedic and entertaining personality.
