Professor Souichi Tomoe, also called Doctor Tomoe, is the father of Hotaru Tomoe and the leader of the Death Busters, the main antagonist of Sailor Moon Crystal season 3. Unlike his 1992 version, this version of Souichi is a psychopathic mad scientist.
In Japanese, he was voiced by Takuya Kirimoto in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal and in English, he was voiced by Keith Silverstein, the latter also Isshiki Ōtsutsuki in Boruto, Masayoshi Shido in Persona 5 and Bryan Fury in Street Fighter x Tekken.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He was a famous scientist specializing in genetic engineering, but he was expelled from the society he was affiliated with for conducting too unethical experiments in the process.
- He started kidnapping and torturing several innocent people as conducted experiments in a secret place under the Mugen Academy to create a Daemon body suitable for Master Pharaoh 90 to settle on Earth and was dedicated to Pharaoh 90, and the remaining body was used for the Daimon experiment.
- Unlike his 1992 anime version, he only saw his daughter Hotaru as a test subject, and conducted numerous experiments arbitrarily, resulting in many victims dying in his experiments. He doesn't hesitate to gloat about his heinous and inhumane actions to Sailor Moon who is appalled by this and decided to put him rest by using her Rainbow Moon Heart Ache Attack, which that was played for satisfaction and never for sympathy at all to show on how horrible of a scientist he really is.
- Though Sailor Moon did hesitated to kill him at and wanted to save him at first, she was forced to kill him when she realized he was beyond saving.

- Only Manga and his crystal remake Anime version count as Hate Sink. Because his 1992 anime version is a tragic scapegoat who truly loves Hotaru and is arbitrarily brainwashed by a Germatoid to save Hotaru. And his 1992 anime version should be seen as a different character who only shared appearances with this version. Even the 1992 version of Germatoid himself is not a Hate Sink, and is actually cool, charismatic and entertaining enough to be a Magnificent Baddie.
