Donald Gennaro is a supporting antagonist in the 1993 film Jurassic Park. He is one of Hammond's lawyers who is invited on a tour to the eponymous amusement park and meets his demise.
He was portrayed by Martin Ferrero.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He was sent to the park to ensure the safety of the buildings, but as soon as he got excited about the dinosaurs, he forgot about his initial goal, to make money from the park, Ignores the obvious threat to the park and the death of an employee.
- He is shown to be greedy (he recommended to Hammond that they charge enormous amounts of money for admission, in fact) , though he tries to collaborate with Hammond when he reminds them that Jurassic Park isn't only for the wealthy.
- Trying to silence Malcolm's criticism of cloning the dinosaurs.
- He's described as a bloodsucking lawyer, though knowing Hammond, he doesn't really mean that.
- Treats the Hammond grandchildren with indifference, mocks Lex when she fears the goat's fate (when it turns out she's a vegetarian) and calls Tim to return a pair of binoculars he found, just because they're expensive.
- He abandon two kids when there was a T-Rex around to save himself and leaves all their protection in the hands of Grant and Malcolm. Ironically, the kids end up surviving when he doesn't.
- It is presented ironically when he waves his arms around when the T-Rex is nearby, which is the worst thing he can do, as the specific T-Rex presented in the movie tracks prey by movement. While this can be considered funny, it may also make the audience facepalm.
- Despite his bad behavior (and the fact his death could have been avoided had he been careful), Hammond was still sued for his demise.
