Dr. Oppenheim and Dr. Boyer are minor antagonists in the manga and anime series Monster. They are corrupt doctors at Eisler Memorial Hospital who enforce the orders of Director Heinemann and attempt to ruin Kenzo Tenma's career when he defies them.
What Makes Them Hate Sinks?[]
- They are greedy and corrupt doctors who care about money rather than saving lives.
- Oppenheim calls Tenma out of surgery on an injured Turkish man so he can save the life of a famous opera singer, and Boyer gladly goes along with this, resulting in the Turkish man's death.
- They take the credit for saving the opera singer when it was Dr. Tenma who performed the operation.
- They order Tenma to walk out of Johan's surgery despite knowing he would die.
- They blame Tenma for the mayor's death and engineer his demotion.
- Boyer abuses his new authority over Tenma by working him to exhaustion.
- They agree to dismiss Tenma as Johan's doctor so he doesn't get any media attention.
- Along with Director Heinemann, they steal candy that Johan was sent as a get-well present.
- Boyer brings Anna and Johan together, despite being told they should not meet yet, so he can send a picture to the media. When Tenma intervenes, he gloats that Tenma is no longer Johan's doctor and threatens his career if he disobeys the director again.
