Elchingen is an antagonist in Genshin Impact and one of the two main antagonists (alongside Kautilya) of the 2022 event Quest Fabulous Fungi Frenzy. He claims to be a merchant originating from Fontaine who settled with the fashion trends of Sumeru. In fact, he turns out to be a Fatui member and a servant of 2nd Harbinger Il Dottore who wants to use the Wisdom Orb to control and use fungi to attack people.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Despite being merely a minion under Kautilya to help him promote his plagiarized inventions from Hanniyah's ancestors, he manages to go the extra mile by modifying the inventions for himself and use them for his own goals.
- Inserted a backdoor command in the Wisdom Orbs to turn the Fungi against their masters, solely with the intention to wreak havoc in Sumeru just to not only get recognized by the Fatui Harbingers and his master Il Dottore, which he is part of, but also to avenge the latter's defeat in the hands of the Traveler and the Dendro Archon.
- Does a poor job trying to hide the evidence of him and Kautilya's discovery of the Wisdom Orb, as it easily got into the hands of grey market merchant Dori who negotiated with the Traveler for the evidence.
- He used the promise of the Ultimate Trial to goad the Traveler into a trap where he could turn their Fungi against them. While he temporarily succeeded on Blitzara, Pyro-1 and Twirly-Whirly until Yae Miko undid the effects of the command against them, Bongo-Head was immune to the backdoor command due to having bonded significantly with the Traveler.
- Taunts the Traveler regarding his connections to Il Dottore upon being captured by the Matra, having his plans foiled thanks to the Traveler and Miko.
- Attempted to escape his transfer to prison and seek refuge in other Fatui divisions, only for a fellow Fatui agent, Yurochka, to trick and kill him for "acting without orders from superiors."
