| “ | Very well, we won't invade Earth. We'll destroy Earth instead! | „ |
| ~ Ping the Pitiless |
Emperor Ping the Pitiless is a minor antagonist of Disney's DuckTales 1987 TV show, serving as the main antagonist of the episode "The Right Duck". A deluded and childish ruler of the planet Mars, he prepared to destroy Earth out of his own unbelievable pettiness until he was forced to go to Pluto.
He was voiced by Ronnie Schell.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He rules Mars in great tyranny, once executing a nobleman by sending him to a hole with carnivorous monsters for bringing him a jewel with a crack in it. Although it's actually just a hair, he doesn't care that he killed that Martian for literally no purpose and shrugs it off.
- In the past, he imprisoned his own mother just because he caught her jaywalking.
- He arrests Launchpad and Doofus when they've done nothing wrong. They were actually played by unscrupulous DASA scientists.
- Since the weird white device from Earth caused a bit of trouble in his throne room and tried to plunder a few of his riches, he says he will invade Earth and plunder their riches as payback. When Launchpad bluffs by claiming that Earthlings are really poor, he decides he will instead destroy Earth, bringing about eight billion deaths.
- He sends a second underling into the hole of carnivorous monsters to execute him when he is the bearer of bad news, being the escape of Launchpad and Doofus.
- Although his plans ultimately go awry, he still causes panic all over the globe. Ultimately, he goes out hated by everybody for his tyranny; seriously, it's no wonder nobody likes him.
- Ping's comedic moments that gave him the Silly Pure Evil status are only to make sure he doesn't scare the target audience; they don't make him any harder to detest otherwise.
