Erazor Djinn is the main antagonist of Sonic and the Secret Rings. He is a genie who grew tired of his existence within the storybook of the Arabian Nights and decided to absorb the tales of the book to increase his power and ultimately enter the real world, and in the process, he would erase the entire book from existence along with all the world that lay within it.

He was voiced by Masashi Ebara in Japanese and Peter Cormican in English.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

In General[]

Although it's implied that he became evil due to having been forced to grant humanity over thousands of wishes, he cursed to do so as a punishment for being an terrible person before, meaning he brought his tragedy onto himself, especially since it's also not played for sympathy.
He is extremely arrogant, pompous, self absorbed, and acts obnoxiously haughty towards everyone around him, making it very hard not to punch him.
Throughout the game he constantly calls Sonic a rat instead of a hedgehog.
Despite having a very cool looking appearance and having a little bit of evil is cool moments, his obnoxiousness and arrogance completely water down any enjoyable qualities he has.

Background[]

He was already a horrible person, before being rightfully imprisoned as he committed numerous crimes.
After serving his sentence and being freed, he was utterly ungrateful that he was given a second chance, and developed a hatred towards humans, despite them having nothing do to with his tragedy.
He ripped the pages of the Arabian Nights and then absorbed them to grow in power, causing millions of people to die.

Sonic and the Secret Rings[]

He shot Sonic with Flame of Judgement curse, either Sonic delivers the Seven World Rings to him, or the flame will kill him.
He sadistically transformed King Solomon into an skeleton.
Even though Sonic gives him the Seven World Rings, he attempts to kill him, showing us how ungrateful he is and how he lacks honor.
When Shahra sacrifices herself to save Sonic, he taunts them both, subverting any care he had for Shahra.
After Sonic defeats him, he Cowardly begs him to stop and Shahra to help him, despite trying to kill the two.
His fate worse than death at Sonic's hands is played for complete and utter satisfaction and catharsis.
