Eric, along with Alex, is one of the two main antagonists of Lars von Triers 2003 retelling of 1999 Columbine massacre, Elephant.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

Along with Alex, he planned to detonate explosives in the school's cafeteria.
When the explosion fails, Eric along with Alex heads to the library and starts shooting every student and teacher who crossed their paths.
Eric murders Benny when he's holding the principal at gunpoint.
When it seems like Eric is just about to let the principal go, Eric guns him down laughing at him along the way.
He proves his hypocrisy as his only goal seems to kill as many people as possible despite his claims that he's trying to "get back" at the students who made fun of him.
Before Alex guns him down, Eric starts listing off the names of the people he's killed.
