King Euron III Greyjoy, also known as Crow's Eye, is one of the main antagonists in the A Song of Ice and Fire novel series by George R.R. Martin, and a major antagonist in its TV series adaptation Game of Thrones. He is the younger brother of King Balon, the older brother of Victarion, Urrigon, and Aeron, and the captain of the pirate ship The Silence.
He was portrayed by Pilou Asbæk.
What Makes Him Hated?[]
- He is a proud practitioner of the Old Way of reaving and pillaging, even if it means slaughtering men, taking women to rape, and enslaving innocents such as children. As such, he encouraged his father to raid the Reach during Robert's Rebellion and helped Balon Greyjoy instigate the Greyjoy Rebellion by burning the Lannister fleet. His excuse for starting the Greyjoy Rebellion is that he wanted to slaughter the best knights in Westeros for fun.
- During a storm he went insane and after it ended he made sure to cut out the tongues of his people.
- Kills his brother, Balon Greyjoy to gain his rule, even if the latter deserved it.
- Threatens to kill his two nephews: Yara and Theon.
- He constantly mocks Theon being a eunuch due to Ramsay's injury.
- He is misogynistic and harassing towards women and he decides to join Daenerys' fleet and after losing the advantage over Yara and Theon, to Cersei's fleet in exchange for sleeping with her.
- When he talks to Cersei he asks to sleep with her in return, also doing this in front of her brother and lover Jaime.
- When he raids ships he mutilates their captive warriors and is seen cutting tongues from opposing sailors.
- Kills the Sand Snakes and helps imprison their mother and punish her at the hands of Cersei.
- Takes Yara captive and calls her to kiss him.
- Laughs when Theon is afraid to fight him and jumps into the sea.
- When Tyrion speaks he tells him that in the Iron Islands dwarves like him would have been thrown into the sea at birth.
- Cowardly flees when he learns of the white menace (although Cersei manipulated him into getting her an army).
- He unprovokedly attacks Daenerys' army, kills her dragon and captures Missandei who is executed for it.
- Trying to kill Daenerys' last dragon and when his fleet is on fire he jumps into the sea.
- In his last moments he tries to kill Jamie even when it's not looking to hurt him.
- He is defeated with a smile on his face for being "another king for Jamie" and for managing to seriously injure Jamie.
