“ | It's my network of Widows that help me control the scales of power. One command, the oil and stock markets crumble. One command, and a quarter of the planet will starve. My Widows can start and end wars. They can break and make kings. And with you, an Avenger under my control... I can finally come out of the shadows using the only natural resource that the world has too much of: Girls. | „ |
~ Dreykov to Romanoff on how he uses the Black Widows for his own agenda. |

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is, for all intents and purposes, the MCU's first human trafficker. He operates the Red Room, where young girls are taken to become brainwashed assassins known as Black Widows through years of harsh physical training, which includes sterilization. And according to Yelena, only 1 in every 20 girls even manage to survive this process.
- He specifically chooses to brainwash women because he views them as useless.
- He had Natasha's birth mother killed for trying too hard to find her daughter.
- After nearly dying in an exploding building, he brainwashed his daughter Antonia into becoming Taskmaster, an assassin with a photographic memory. This act was so heinous and cruel that literally the very first thing Antonia says upon being freed from mind-control is asking if her father was gone.
- While he does show 1 affectionate moment to his daughter, said moment is rendered moot when he selfishly ditches her to die in order to save his own life and prioritizes jewelry over his daughter.
- He had Alexei, his longtime friend and collaborator, thrown in prison despite everything he'd done for him. It's even implied that he did so out of sheer pettiness.
- He remote-controls one of his Widows into committing suicide after she breaks her leg chasing Natasha and Yelena.
- He plans to emerge from the shadows with Widows all around the world ready to start mass chaos with just one command.
- He's a smug coward, punching a defenseless Natasha in the face but then immediately panicking once she turns the tables.
