Gerard Bieri is the secondary antagonist of the 2022 video game Horizon Forbidden West.
Bieri is the cold, ruthless leader of the Far Zenith remnants, who arrived on Earth with the other survivors in order to locate GAIA and its Subordinate Functions to steal it and terraform another planet for themselves.
However, he and his Zenith cronies later met with stiff resistance from Aloy and her allies, as well as the to-be Zenith defector Tilda van der Meer, before he later gets killed by the latter near the end of the game.
He is portrayed and voiced by Dan Donohue.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Bieri is shown to be an arrogant hypocrite, who clearly treats the New Earth's tribals as "bugs" and "insects", as such when he encounters Aloy's team near the end within the Zenith base, showcasing his superiority complex towards them.
- Used and abused Beta like his own tool, simply to obtain GAIA's three subordinate functions including ARTEMIS, ELEUTHIA and APOLLO and would soon discard her after retrieving ELEUTHIA.
- Planned to leave Earth from Nemesis' wrath and terraform another planet for him and the Zeniths' comfort, showcasing that he only cares for his own goal with zero care for the lives he would take in the process.
- Bieri is clearly shown to be despised even by his fellow Zeniths, including Erik Visser, Tilda van der Meer and Verbena Sutter, who all resent his authority. They only follow him just because of his main goal and nothing else indicates of anything that is loyalty.
