The Gogoba Chief is a recurring antagonist in the comedy television series Sonic Boom, serving as the main antagonist of the episode "Guilt Tripping" and a minor antagonist for the rest of the series. He is the leader of the guilt-tripping tribe of chinchillas known as the Gogobas.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- While most of the villains in the series are sympathetic (e.g. Dr. Eggman, Dave the Intern) or at least have an Evil is Cool factor (e.g. Lyric the Last Ancient), the Gogoba Chief has little to none of these attributes.
- He constantly guilt trips anyone he comes in order to get his way, making him nothing short of a spoiled brat.
- He kept guilt tripping Sonic and Tails so that they would stay at the Gogoba Village, not caring at all about their personal lives.
- After Sonic and Tails left, he followed them to Sonic's house and continued to antagonize the pair.
- While Eggman arguably deserved it, the Gogoba Chief still guilt tripped him so that the Gogobas could stay at his lair.
- When Knuckles came to his tribe out of a desperate need to find a home and a family, he rudely kicked him out simply for being too nice.
- He's so detestable that Team Sonic (with the exception of Amy) is visibly reluctant to help him out whenever they have to. It gets to the point where they outright consider leaving him and his tribe to their fate whenever they're in any danger.
- He never receives any punishment for his guilt tripping, making him a karma houdini. The closest that's ever come to this is when Sonic and Tails seemingly manage to out guilt trip him so they could leave, and even that's stretching it.
