Gray's Mother is the overarching antagonist of the GameToons Rainbow Friends episode, “The REJECTED Rainbow Friend...".
She is the mother of Gary Grayson (who would later become the Rainbow Friend, Gray) that despises her son's obsession for insects. She grew to hate it so much, that she would take drastic measures to try and end his son's obsession.
What Makes her a Hate Sink?[]
- She is first seen arguing with his husband, implying that she has a strained relationship with him.
- While she did used to care for Gary and her husband, this had been subverted after Gary's fascination with insects developed.
- When she argued with her husband, she called his son a freak.
- After her husband left him due to being in the military, she didn't seem to care, and only scowled at him while he was leaving.
- She also wasn't upset after learning that her husband was dead.
- After Gary's Father left her for the military, she became even worse.
- She took her time to destroy Gary's bug collection, which according to Red, was the only thing Gary ever cared about.
- Prevented Gary from finding more bugs, or even talking about them.
- If she caught him doing so, she would abuse Gary by having him do more difficult chores, and even taunting him over it.
- When she found out that her late husband gave Gary a new ant farm, she smashed it and burned the ants with a lighter as one last attempt to end Gary's hobby for good.
- Even though Gary would later move out of his mother's house to continue his obsession, her abuse on him impacted Gary.
- It is unknown how she felt when Gary moved out, but its most likely that she doesn't even care.
- She is implied to be somewhat indirectly responsible for her son's downfall to villainy.
- Unlike most other GameToons characters, she has no redeeming qualities and is taken very seriously.
- She is never punished for her actions, making her a Karma Houdini.
Trivia[]
- She, along with Black and Green's Bullies, are the only Rainbow Friends characters from GameToons that is a Hate Sink.
- The latter and former, along with the Employees are also the only Rainbow Friends Hate Sinks from the same series to be humans.
- Ironically, her appearance also resembles Dolores Umbridge, who's also a Hate Sink.
