Hana Abadeer is a supporting character in Max's young adult animated series, Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake. She is the emotionally abusive mother of Marshall Lee, being an elitist who seeks to control her son.
She was played by Erica Luttrell.
What makes her despicable?[]
- Marshall Lee expresses that he and his mother do not speak, which is logical since she wants to control without worrying about Marshall's dreams.
- Although she initially seems friendly to Marshall Lee and Gary during the party, this is just a facade.
- Although she agreed to arrange a Lemoncarbs meeting for Gary, her son's friend and later boyfriend, that was only so that Marshall would return home with her and force him to continue with the family business even though he had other plans.
- She pauses the party to talk about her son's return where she basically exposes him in front of everyone saying that he finally gave up those "shameful dreams" and orders him to hesitate despite of his clear discomfort .
- She gets upset when Gary accuses her of being a bad mother at the party and tells Marshall to keep his friend a "rat", since she's capable of ending his career if they get in her way.
- In the final sequence of the series, the tenants of the building that houses Fionna (and presumably Marshall) join a protest to demand lower rents, which Hanna ignores. The worst thing is that they were the ones who rebuilt the buildings after the Beetle disaster, but she refuses to lower their rent.
- While her gender counterpart, Hunson Abadeer, is somewhat controlling and not the best father, he has shown to be genuinely affable to Finn and Jake as well as showing a concern for them and cares for Marceline. On the other hand, Hana lacks comic moments, she is not really friendly with her son's friends and is more concerned with controlling him than with her son himself.
- Despite not having much screen time, in the short time she appears she shows that she believes she can control her son and is so immersed in her wealth that she has no empathy with her concerns ignore them.
