“ | In his country women were possessions. Weak. Tools of pleasure. Chattel to be traded like livestock. And they understood their place. But here, in Europe, women feigned a strength and independence that both amused and excited him. Forcing them into physical submission was a gratification he always enjoyed. | „ |
~ The Hassassin's misogynistic inner monologue. |
The Hassassin (referring to the Medieval Haschaschin of Hassan Ibn Sabbah; frequently referred to as "The Killer") is the secondary antagonist of the 2000 mystery novel Angels & Demons. He is a freelance assassin cooperated with the ancient Illuminati group carrying out evil deeds by another character named "Janus".
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is extreme misogynist who views women as tools of pleasure and in his inner monologue, he reflects on how back in his country, women are akin to livestock, which is the way he likes it.
- He rapes any woman who doesn't subscribe to his misogynistic ideals, and gets perverse sexual pleasure out mentally breaking European women to put them "in their place."
- He hired a hooker and assaulted her so badly that she pretended to pass out so that he'd stop.
- He tries to rape Vittoria, with his idea of maximum sexual pleasure being slitting her throat as he ejaculates
- He disparagingly refers to Christians as "Crusaders" and sides with what he believes to be the Illuminati not because he actually believes in their ideals, but rather out of pure xenophobia against Christians.
Trivia[]
- The film version of the Hassassin isn't a Hate Sink due to lacking his book counterpart's misogyny and anti-Christian xenophobia.
