NOTE: This page contains information only about the movie version of Heather Hills, as her books counterpart is not a Hate Sink, thus only the movie version of the former's info should be put here. |
Heather Hills is the main antagonist of the 2012 film Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days. She is the older sister of Holly Hills and her biggest rival.
She is portrayed by Melissa Roxburgh.
What Makes Her a Hate Sink?[]
- She is a rude, insulting and apathetic sister to Holly Hills and their relationship borders on abuse very similar to that which Rodrick inflicts on Greg. Even Greg recognizes it and calls her "Rodrick in a dress". However, she is an even bigger jerk than Rodrick.
- While Rodrick has some responsibilities to his family, funny moments and is an on/off neutral character, Heather is presented in a much worse way both to her sister and to the rest of the environment. She also has no comedic moments (except for her defeat).
- According to Holly, she changed her shampoo as a child and if she had applied the imitation, she would have gone completely bald.
- She is shown in the third film to order Holly to get in the car from school and refuses to let her sign Greg's book.
- When Rodrick tries to get her and touches her car, she runs over his foot (he is admittedly an idiot and annoying, but this is an overreaction).
- She urges Holly to cut her time at the country club short, or she'll walk back, since she got an update on her 16th birthday party (Otherwise she will be forced to return on foot).
- While she works as a lifeguard in the country club, it's pretty clear that she's not fulfilling her role, even looking at her phone instead of observing the pool, as she mocks a girl who asked her for something and ignores Rodrick faking a drowning, accidentally dragging one of the guests to "save" him.
- She also admits that she only sits in the life suit for college credit, showing the contrast between her and her sister who volunteers at the same place to coach children in tennis.
- She gleefully laughs at Greg as he walks by in underwear instead of a bathing suit.
- She gets Greg to agree to have Rodrick’s band, Löded Dïper, perform on her birthday, only because it will be the first band to perform for her and because it would increase her popularity, not before mocking the name.
- She drops the strawberry that Rowley tried to eat like the birthday guests and mocks Greg and Rowley for only being there to be maintenance people. When Holly tries to save them as her guests, Heather snaps at her sister, who is "trying to grab the spotlight for herself".
- When her parents give her grandmother's jewelry as a gift, she is disgusted that it is already used, showing disrespect over others over a gift, especially to her own family.
- She reacts with rage when she realizes that Löded Dïper is Rodrick's band (although this is quite understandable since the band causes damage and noise to the guests).
- She also pushes one of her friend's head aside to watch Rodrick.
- After Rodrick drops an ice statue in her likeness, in addition to the many damages he caused to the party, she grabs a pole and tries to injure him, only for them both to fall covered in chocolate.
- Her defeat at the party was very satisfying for Holly as well as for Greg and the viewers, who won Holly's heart because of it.
Trivia[]
- Only the film version of Heather is a Hate Sink, since her character in the books is not described enough and is not portrayed negatively. She is also shown to be a babysitter to Rowley, which may show a desire to help.
- Although Heather was not to be featured in the former film Rodrick Rules, her actress, Melissa Roxburgh, plays another character, Rachel Lewis, at a party at Rodrick's house. Because of this, fans mistakenly believe that Heather used to be Rodrick's girlfriend.
