What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is not shown with any redeeming qualities or positive traits that might elicit sympathy or entertainment.
- He is a dirty traitor, as he double-crosses Tony and Angel, who initially came to make a drug deal. By making them pay him, even tho Hector didn’t give them the drugs, and taking them hostage, Hector reveals himself as untrustworthy and treacherous person from the very start.
- He is an extreme sadist, as shown by his use of a chainsaw to brutally mutilate Angel while forcing Tony to watch, just because they refused to pay him, He then tried to do the same with Tony, but was stopped because of Manny’s interference, This sadistic act is explicitly intended to shock and repulse the audience.
- He proves himself to be a coward as when Manny came Tony’s aid and started killing off Hector’s henchmen, he ran off like a chump only to be shot and killed by Tony, as he deserved to.
