“ | Look. Y'all put your lives at risk when you signed up for SWAT. Now you want to make the big money, you're going to have to accept bigger risk. That's how it works. Anyone wants out can hand me their badge. Didn't think so. We good to go? | „ |
~ Branden showing his greed and unfaithfulness to the law. |
Branden is a supporting antagonist in Batman: Arkham Origins. He is a corrupt cop that sought to earn the $50 million bounty by killing Batman.
He was voiced by Chris Fries.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is an egotistical cop that prioritizes money over the safety of citizens. As a police officer, he gleefully employs lethal force to subdue enemies, something Gordon justifiably calls him out on.
- Even when not accounting for his complete disregard for his occupation and greed, he has a selfish, argumentative, and arrogant personality, and only uses others to benefit him. He's basically the antithesis of a model police officer.
- While he is shown to get along well with Gillian Loeb and his own SWAT team, he doesn't show true care and uses them to try to secure his promotion as commissioner. He threatens to fire his officers unwilling to participate in the bounty, and degrades them whenever Batman defeats any of them.
- He is completely unfaithful to his wife and doesn't hold any remorse about it.
- Tries to murder Alexandra Dent, Harvey's sister, before trying to frame Penguin about it.
- Had one of his officers blackmail one of Penguin's lackeys for bribes.
- He isn't very bright at planning attacks against Batman. He arrogantly taunts Batman on how he and his men have the upper hand, and makes poorly-thought plans to try to take him down.
- Ungratefully insults Batman while demanding to be untied. When Batman frees Branden, the corrupt cop tries to beat down Batman once more before being put down.
- His arrogance carries over in the Deathstroke DLC, where he egotistically believes he will be the one to take down Deathstroke, which once again proves not to be the case.
